- inspiration -
This collectible statue from the
Sideshow collection was the inspiration
for the 1962 SecretSpiderMan suit which is based on the introduction of the original Red/Blue suit as illustrated in the Amazing Fantasy comic series.
(See below)
This is the extremely rare issue of Marvels Amazing Fantasy (#15) that was the public's first introduction to a quirky wiz kid by the name of Peter Parker.
A kid, much like everyone else on the surface, who's iconic story and legendary costume would go on to change the world as we know it.
The 1962 issue of Amazing Fantasy #15 is considered by many to be part of the "Holy Trinity" to comic collectors with a recent 9.6 grade selling for a whopping 1.1million!!
The other two parts of the collectors trinity:
- The 1st Superman, 1938 issue of Action Comics #1 which recently sold for 2.1million!!
- The 1st Batman, 1939 issue of Detective Comics #27 which also sold for 2.1million!!
Just... Yeah, Wow... (so far) Those are the only 3 comic books to ever reach the million dollar mark!
My goal with the Comic Spider suit was to honor that great legacy. To pay reverence and respect to the original Spider suit, and to the story that started it all back in 1962!
